5 Things to Know for your Honeymoon

1. TAG. YOUR. BAGS.

Please, please, please, please, tag your bags!! After a long day of travel, we were finally pulling up to our resort when I got a text saying we picked up the wrong bag at the airport. We had to drive all the way back to switch bags, which was annoying, BUT it was a heck of a lot better than not having a tag on our bag and losing all of our stuff forever and having to wear obnoxious tourist t-shirts our entire time.

2. You might be on your phone less if you post a little.

We had said that we weren't going to be on our phones a lot, but I had so many people wanting to know all the deets. I'll tell you that by posting a picture here and a picture there, the amount of texts I got shrunk substantially. People just want to know where you are, what you're doing, and want to see just how incredibly over-the-moon happy you are. If they see it, they'll most likely back off a little bit and you'll be able to be able to fully detox from life.

3. Don't feel like you have to do a lot.

I spent way too much time before we left trying to find a few excursions for us to do on our vacay and I'll tell you, this was a HUGE waste of time. Everyone was asking me what kinds of things we were doing on our HM and I felt like it was a thing we had to do Well guess what. We didn't do anything and we loved every second of it. We went to the town square a few times, but honestly we just bummed on the beach, hung in the pool, and spent a whole lot of time eating. :) So don't feel pressured to do excursions. This is your honeymoon, do what you and your new husband want to!

4. If you get a little homesick, THAT'S A GOOD THING.

When we were in paradise for a few days, I'll be honest. We got a little homesick. We missed our puppy desperately and we were extremely eager to get home unpack all of our stuff and get to making our home, our home. It was a great feeling knowing that while we absolutely loved being on Island time, we missed our life back home and there was so much to look forward to after it.

5. Pictures, pictures, pictures

I don't know how many people asked us if we had a photographer just follow us around our entire HM. While we didn't have our very own photographer the entire vacation, we brought our own camera and a tripod. If you learn how to use the tripod and the timer right, your pics will look like professional! Also, our resort had photographers that gave free photo shoots and gave a ton of bundling options that were extremely reasonable! This was probably the best surprise. A 30 minute session will go a long way when you have a nice tan and the just-married-glow about you. :) So check with your resort–maybe you have a photoshoot to shop for!

6. ENJOY IT.

You only get one (hopefully!) So soak it up.
