Working from Home

This is so ironically true it almost hurts. I have read countless heartbreakingly impossible posts from fellow spoonies desperate for a situation that will allow them to work and quite frankly, I’ve written my fair share of those humbling posts myself.

I am so so thankful for the job I have, however, I haven’t always been so fortunate. It’s not an accommodating world out there for people with disabilities (visible or not) and a big step in the right direction is being part of the good change. Even if that is as small of a step as not judging a seemingly healthy person for utilizing the handicapped spot or even just not whispering about them when they sit on the ground in line (we can hear youuuuu) or as simple as just recognizing that this whole quarantine-life thing didn’t start and won’t end with COVID for all of us. That not everyone GETS the chance to NOT work from home, for some of us, it’s our only option. So please don’t say “oh you’re so lucky!” This isn’t particularly what “lucky” looks like. It’s not a luxury, it’s a necessity.
