Let’s talk Bladder Health

I’m an open book about pretty much everything in my life. However, some things are easier than others for me to talk about (or more so write about).

There’s a huge stigma around UTI’s that makes it uncomfortable to be open and have a conversation about. Which is AWFUL because if you struggle with chronic infections, it’s already such an isolating place to be.

Just to clear up two common misconceptions: UTI’s are NOT only caused by sex and they do NOT equate poor personal hygiene.

You never know someone’s story and no one owes anyone an explanation in order to avoid judgment. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Shame thrives in silence, so that’s why I’m sharing this part of my story. Unfortunately, POTS impacts alllll the things that are supposed to be automatically regulated...this includes the urinary tract.

I had 17 UTI/kidney infections in the span of 2.5 years.

My UTI’s go straight to my kidneys with little warning. My first one landed me in the hospital and from that point forward I was in and out of the urologists like clockwork.

I had no answers and no solutions from my doctors. I popped cranberry supplements with no luck. l was put on daily antibiotics and STILL got infections, and even then my urologist basically told me “sorry, this is your best bet” and let me know that I would need to be on a daily antibiotic for the rest of my life. This cycle is exhausting.

BUT then about a year ago I found Uqora. Here’s the kicker: I have only had 4 infections since I started using their products.

You guys, I could scream from the roof tops how much I love this company. You don’t get to have much control in life when you’re a spoonie, but man, Uqora has given me some of that control back and it feels SO dang good.

One in five women suffer from chronic UTI’s, so chances are there’s someone reading this that is in the same boat.

So if that’s you, I gotttt you. I understand the loneliness and frustration and pain these recurrent infections bring. I understand the emotional toll they have on you.

Try Uqora.

It just might give you the same hope it’s given me.

Suffering from chronic illnesses, validation is hard to come by. So when I received this {absolutely stunning}bouquet and read their sweet note, I had such an overwhelming appreciation for what that validation feels like.

Thank you, Uqora, for your validation and kindness, it was well worth the ugly-cry.

Not only has this company changed my life physically, but they've provided me a support system of others who suffer with the same thing.

Here’s to being vulnerable and embracing the uncomfortable in hopes to raise awareness and make the taboo a little less taboo.

Till next time. ✌🏻
